PHOTO FROM THE PAST

March 7th, 2010

This photo was taken aboard HMS Cockade alongside in Hong Kong circa 1957. Even back then I had to do the dishes!!. Arsenal won again and continue to stick with the league leaders.

Conservative Government do it Again!!!

March 4th, 2010

So nice to be told by a Gov Minister that PEI is a Hell Hole. And here I was thinking it was ‘The Gentle Island’ how wrong can one be? I think its time this government was kicked out, too many times the Maritime Provinces have suffered their rude and crude comments.

With a win over Stoke yesterday and Chelsea losing Manchester City Arsenal move to within three points of the leader, just one point behind Man U. Sadly Aaron Ramsay suffered a serious injury, a possible broken knee??

More Book Sales

February 26th, 2010

Every time I think my first book ‘Lily & Me’ has run its course I get a phone call about it. Last night a Scottish chap phoned to get both copies to take home to his mother. He said he doesn’t read much, but read my book and loved it so much he wanted his family in Scotland to have copies.
My cousin loaned a copy of ‘Lily & Me’ to his ex wife she too raved about it saying it was as good as Angela’s Ashes. And now I face a real challenge, the Union Jack Newspaper in the US have agreed to take a look at the book and perhaps review in the paper. The kicker was the lady reviewer said she has a bias against self published books and authors??? I have sent a copy anyway, I’m confident she will like it????

Arsenal Close Gap!

February 21st, 2010

Arsenal beat Sunderland on Saturday while Man U lost to Everton, closing the point gap to only two points and six behind Chelsea. However, they didn’t play well against Sunderland and really only won by the skin of their teeth. Still have a lot of improving to do in both goal scoring and even the goal keeping is questionable sometimes. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Medals for British MP’s

February 16th, 2010

I thought I’d heard it all!! but the idea that British MP’s visiting war zones should be entitled to a medal?? is absolutely nonsense. All troops whether British, US, Canadian or other forces, get little enough recognition for risking their lives as it is, the medals are small reward and belong only to them. If it is decided that MP’s be awarded medals, I have a suggestion where they should be pinned. Might be a problem getting them off their backsides long enough to carry out the awards though!!

Arsenal Win Again!!!

February 11th, 2010

Hi Folks, well I’m still waiting for the Provincial Gov to explain the liquor store move, so far only silence??? But my mood is better Arsenal beat Liverpool yesterday. That wasn’t the only good news, Chelsea lost and Man U tied. I’d say that puts Arsenal back in the race!!!

PEI Gov idea of business.

February 9th, 2010

I get upset when Arsenal lose, but it doesn’t compare to how upset I get when I hear of the latest government business plan. In the town of Stratford we have a liquor store that is being moved to a more (apparently)suitable location at a cost of approx $700.000.00. Now it might be considered necessary if the present building was about to collapse and we were able to pay for the move. However it seems the Premier has forgot we have a huge deficit. If the building is unsuitable close it down. Surely it would not cause undue hardship to the people of Stratford. After all there are three stores in Charlottetown, the nearest about ten minutes away!!!!
Just my rant as I await the next election?
